As I step into this season of gratitude, I’m reflecting on the incredible journey that led me to The Grey House Creative Market. Becoming the new owner of this beautiful space has been a leap of faith, but the support I’ve received both from the community and from those who attend our events means the world, and I am so thankful.
Crafting has always been a source of peace for me, a practice I first discovered while planning my wedding. When a last-minute change meant I needed to take over my décor, I tapped into a creative side I hadn’t known was there, crafting centerpieces and other details that brought my dream wedding to life. Sitting for hours with flowers and ribbons, I found a sense of focus and calm I hadn’t expected. It wasn’t about being perfect but about being present. Little did I know what those moments were preparing me for.
On my 50th birthday this year, I held a brunch here at The Grey House, instantly falling in love with the space. I was initially hesitant about celebrating my birthday, but I thought, "Why not? You only turn 50 once." Looking back, that decision was life-changing. I had no idea that six months later, I would become the owner of this space.
Now, each day brings new people, new ideas, and new opportunities to create. I’m excited to take it one month at a time, stretching my imagination and building a welcoming space for all. So as I continue on this journey, I hope to share the peace and joy that crafting has brought me with others.
What are you thankful for this season?
